What is a Podcast?

A podcast is an audio recording posted online, much like a radio show, only sometimes shorter. Podcasts are a way of expanding on the articles here on the SwamiJ.com website. It is also a convenient way to share some guided practices. I'm just starting to learn about podcasts and will update this page as I learn more. The individual podcasts are here on the site (click here), as well as listed on internet in other locations.

General information about podcasting is here:
Apple (iTunes) Podcast home page

Subscriptions

You can subscribe to the podcast through iTunes (you'll have to download iTunes software into your computer). There are some other places, but I'm not sure yet where they are. I'll add the links later.

Swami J's podcasts are available online by subscription:

Syndication through XML and RSS

If you understand XML and RSS syndications, you already have spotted the XML button. If you are reading this, but have no idea what this is talking about, I can't help you, as I barely understand this stuff myself. I don't know it well enough to describe it here in writing. But the gist of it that the podcast can be linked on your internet based home page portals, the same way you might track news reports from famous news networks. This is an alternative to subscribing through one the sites specifically designed for podcasts. There are other ways to do this, but one I'm familiar with is MyYahoo.

If you understand how to use an RSS Feed, then please note that the address for the Swami J podcast is https://swamij.com/podcast.xml.

This site is devoted to presenting the ancient Self-Realization path of the Tradition of the Himalayan masters in simple, understandable and beneficial ways, while not compromising quality or depth. The goal of our sadhana or practices is the highest Joy that comes from the Realization in direct experience of the center of consciousness, the Self, the Atman or Purusha, which is one and the same with the Absolute Reality. This Self-Realization comes through Yoga meditation of the Yoga Sutras, the contemplative insight of Advaita Vedanta, and the intense devotion of Samaya Sri Vidya Tantra, the three of which complement one another like fingers on a hand. We employ the classical approaches of Raja, Jnana, Karma, and Bhakti Yoga, as well as Hatha, Kriya, Kundalini, Laya, Mantra, Nada, Siddha, and Tantra Yoga. Meditation, contemplation, mantra and prayer finally converge into a unified force directed towards the final stage, piercing the pearl of wisdom called bindu, leading to the Absolute.
