Integrate
Integrate the different levels so they work together...

Yoga meditation is the art and science of systematically
observing, accepting, understanding, and training
each of the levels of our being,
such that we may coordinate and integrate
those aspects of ourselves,
and dwell in the direct experience
of the center of consciousness.

Let the parts work together, like the fingers on a hand

At each of the levels of our being, allow the various aspects to work together like the fingers of a hand.

The parts need to come together
as a single, whole force.

  • All of the senses work together
  • All of the aspects of breath work together
  • All of the parts and systems of the body can work together
  • All of the thought patterns and emotions of the mind can work together

Like the fingers of a hand, each of these aspects, within each the levels of our being become integrated. Each level of our being is thus a useful tool in its own unique way.

Allow our levels of being play together like music

Once the aspects within each level of our being are coordinated and integrated, then those levels can work together, flow together, like the different musicians playing together to form a beautiful harmony.

The senses work with each other. The parts and systems of the body work with each other. Inhalation, exhalation, and transition of breath flow together. The four functions of mind (manas, chitta, ahamkara, and buddhi) are coordinated and integrated, and work together

Then each of the levels can integrate with one another, becoming one powerful force. Senses, body, breath, and mind join together in one integrated force, like the power of a symphony orchestra.

Direct the integrated parts inward with full determination

The force of this integration is then turned inward with full determination. People speak of wanting to awaken kundalini shakti, the spiritual energy. However, the first form of shakti to emerge is not kundalini shakti which brings enlightenment, but sankalpa shakti, which is the energy of determination. It is a very powerful force which declares of ones intent to experience the Highest, "I can do it, I will do it, I have to do it!"

It is like what Jesus told his students was his most important teaching, "Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, with ALL your mind, and with ALL your strength." We must coordinate and integrate ALL of the aspects of ALL of the levels of our being. Then Love is there, and can be turned inward, with full determination.

-------

This site is devoted to presenting the ancient Self-Realization path of the Tradition of the Himalayan masters in simple, understandable and beneficial ways, while not compromising quality or depth. The goal of our sadhana or practices is the highest Joy that comes from the Realization in direct experience of the center of consciousness, the Self, the Atman or Purusha, which is one and the same with the Absolute Reality. This Self-Realization comes through Yoga meditation of the Yoga Sutras, the contemplative insight of Advaita Vedanta, and the intense devotion of Samaya Sri Vidya Tantra, the three of which complement one another like fingers on a hand. We employ the classical approaches of Raja, Jnana, Karma, and Bhakti Yoga, as well as Hatha, Kriya, Kundalini, Laya, Mantra, Nada, Siddha, and Tantra Yoga. Meditation, contemplation, mantra and prayer finally converge into a unified force directed towards the final stage, piercing the pearl of wisdom called bindu, leading to the Absolute.
